As Catherine mentioned, we had a family gathering on July 23rd to celebrate Mike... 'Michael Andrew' to be inclusive to all family. It was a gorgeous day at Michael and Coral's home.
The highlight for me was at the end of the night, after eating, when many gathered at the pond to relax and play... then gathered again for a bubbly toast to Mike.... while the littlest kids stripped naked and ran around the grass laughing gleefully. The night finally closed with the start of rain (ah, Mike loved that), telling us it was time to go-- a most appropriate way to end the day dedicated to Mike.
As part of the activities for the day, I made a multiple choice game-- of lots of Mike's favourite things. This has been a recurring theme in the blog. Mike and I had a few conversation about 'favourite' vs. 'favourite of all time'... so you can see that important distinction as you read through the questions.
