SCOUTING

Most of our family vacations were camping trips, many to Pinery Provincial Park on Lake Huron, a little northwest of London. However, most of the camping pictures we have are from Scouting, which featured the majority of Andrew's camping. I was a Scout leader for many years, including all of Andrew's Scouting years and Scout camps. There were fall, winter and spring weekend camps each year plus a week long summer camp at the six thousand acre Haliburtion Scout Reserve.

Scouting was a series of adventures for Andrew, and later Matthew, and these are pictures of a few of them.

Summer Camp
The first day of each summer camp the boys have a swim test are are given a coloured tag indicating level of swimming proficiency. They wear the tags on a string around their neck throughout the week.

  1. Pinery is a family place - it is a tradition for us each summer, winter and Hallowe'en. The memories you created with Mike there are a treasure I'm sure :) Your pictures are beautiful - thank you for sharing :) Colleen
