There is no denying that Mike was drawn to the 'good guy' archetype. Beloved by Mike were the 'good guys' fighting the good fight with 'special violence', in favourite movies:
Star Wars, The Matrix, Braveheart, and all super heros.
It's a pretty good outlook to have- this good-guys-prevail-optimism. It's idealistic-- maybe a bit innocent. But it's what we aspire to. To look for the good in everyone. To believe in people. To give people the benefit of the doubt. To trust in people. To stand up for the little guys. To do what's right.
I think of Mike as one of these 'good guys'. Not perfect, but always good.
