In remembrance ....

We were in Stratford this past week, seeing Jesus Christ Superstar .... a production Andrew Lloyd Webber touts to be the best production he has ever seen - quite a compliment coming from the composer! I understand that the whole cast has been picked up by Broadway. It really was an amazing production.

When we go to the Stratford festival, we always like to meander the streets and do some window shopping. We went into one store (Mike a wee bit reluctantly) where there were collections of books .... and a brown one caught my eye ... it was entitled, In Loving Memory.

I opened it up to a page and found this quote:

Why did this happen to me? we ask.
It happened partly because we were
fortunate enough to have loved someone.
Without love there would be no grief.
(June Cerza Kolf)

It really stopped me, caught me off guard .... resonated deeply. Grief comes because, and only when, we were blessed to have loved someone. Perhaps something I always knew, but the simple phrasing changed me; it made some light shine upon the darkness of grief.
