Santa's Letter

When Mike was young (and, hilariously, even when not-so-young), every year, he would write a note to Santa, along with Alison and Matthew.  And every year, Santa would write back-- a lovely note using a magic pen that changed colour from red to green throughout the letter.

Mike hoped this tradition would continue for Lucas and Emily.  And so it was, that Lucas wrote a little note with Mike's help, and Santa wrote back in just the same way that Mike had remembered it.  Mike took several photos of this magical letter.  I know Mike had a lot of thoughts that Christmas, and so did I.  We took time to sit still and feel the magic of Christmas.  We watched Lucas and Emily.

Last year, Santa continued the tradition by writing another letter to Lucas and Emily, reminding them about their Daddy.  Santa knows it's important to believe and it's important to have special memories.  I expect Santa will take the time to write another letter today, again reminding Lucas and Emily to think about their Daddy and congratulating them on all of their wonderful accomplishments this past year.
