June

1, 2, 3....go!  Ready or not, here comes summer.   Finally summer weather has arrived and we can see the countdown to summer holidays unrolling, like a carpet of fresh sod (yes, I'm thinking about luscious grass, not pathetic patches like ours...).  It's track and field season, skinned knees, dirty finger nails, mud smeared hands (really, I already washed them...), bug bites, new-sandle-blisters, 'how many days of school left?' and lilacs exploding everywhere.  It's the hopeful promise of summer.

June marks a full 12 months since Mike's death, as the seasons have come and gone.  Now we are back where we started, but we have all changed in so many ways.  We have learned to look more closely, to feel things more deeply, to be more silly, to laugh louder, to cry more easily, to think about the future, to hold dear the past, to look for inspiration, to wonder, to forgive, to examine, to embrace, to plant one foot firmly in front of the next.

This blog starts into its 5th month today.  I'd like to stick together for a full 12 months.  Let me know if you need a change of dates or a rest from writing.  Please also pass on names of anyone else who might like to contribute in any way.

  1. Lucas: Adam really likes the waterslide pool idea - he has done that too! But he said his pool is a boat pool.

Sarah - we are with you ... happy to write :)
